A Note of Thanks, Goodreads Readers
Just like putting my story out in the world without any expectations, I didn't know what to expect from launching a Goodreads Giveaway.
A week into Threads of Me and You being officially launched and I’m still taking in the generosity of time and space people are giving to it. Thank you, Goodreads Readers, who entered the giveaway. Thank you for your curiosity and for following that thread that piqued your interest.
And congratulations to all the winners! A hundred ebook copies of Threads of Me and You going out into the world to people ready to discover more of themselves. That's not a small thing.
Whether you entered and didn't win, or entered and did — you saw something in the cover or the title that made you stop scrolling. You added the book to your want-to-read shelf. You spent a moment of your attention on a story that asks a lot of its readers. When you get to know me, you’ll know that I often share this Simone Weil quote, “Attention is the rarest and purest form of generosity.” Thank you for giving my work your generosity.
I wrote Threads of Me and You because I believe our stories have the power to unite us, and inspire movement in one another. This book is meant to inspire and also serve as a mirror.
I wrote it because whenever I shared my story, others would tell me how much they saw themselves in what I had experienced and they were inspired by the changes I was making for myself and my life.
You're here because you're paying attention. You're looking to discover something. I respect that deeply, and I wrote this book for exactly that kind of reader.
So thank you, again, Goodreads Readers.
If you didn't win, the book is available now wherever books are sold.
This is just the beginning for us.
With you, Laura
